Paus NE-1 drilled in 1970 by Conoco had a subsea blow out when pulling core at 777-788m. Gas sampled was over 74% Hydrocarbon (over 70% methane). Water Depth is 107m. Paus NE-2 drilled in 1971 By Conoco tested high CO2 gas in deeper Miocene section. Paus South-1 drilled in 1971 by Conoco penetrated the same Paus giant structure and tested high CO2 gas in deeper Miocene section. Pliocene section at Paus remains untested although good quality gas sampled at Paus NE-1 during blowout. Note no Miocene section penetrated at Paus NE-1.
